Pu’erh is a type of fermented tea (also known as dark tea) so named because the use of microbial fermentation the tea-making process. Yiwu, Yunnan, known for producing gentler and milder variants of Pu’erh more suitable for novice drinkers.
What distinguishes Ripe Pu’erh from Raw Pu’erh is that it uses an accelerated fermentation process called wo-duo (piling). The resulting tea has a more earthly and thick flavor, while losing the sharpness of Raw Pu’erh.
